Ricky say for me to vote for Ricky, I do what Ricky say because Ricky is the greatest. Ricky don't want to play for the minors, Ricky want to play for a real team. Ricky is the greatest of all time and we should all do what Ricky say and say that Ricky should play.
P.S. Ricky Ricky Ricky

The Rangers have had all kinds of outfield injuries this year. They could play Rickey in place of "Mr. Swing at everything" Nelson Cruz. Besides 76 year old Julio Franco still plays the game and I know Rickey is still a better hitter.

Rickey Henderson should sign up to play on the Texas Rangers....they might let him play. I remember Rickey on the Oakland "A's" when I use to go to the A's game as a kid. But now I am a Texas Rangers fan as I live in Texas and think that they should have me as their fan. I have to say some people don't think they will ever make the worlds series but some day they will. So Rickey sign up for the Texas Rangers.

I saw this during the Ranger game and, why not give him a chance. Sosa has worked out in Texas, give the old man a chance.
By the way I am a huge ranger fan and I highly dislike the A's ever since the fans caused Frankie Fransisco to throw a chair in the crowd!

It's horrible to see a player with Rickey's accomplishments forced out of baseball and into retirement the same way that Canseco and Palmeiro were forced into retirement (without the steroid allegations but still not allowed to retire on his own terms).
If nothing else, he can always be added to some roster (PREFERRABLY OAKLAND) and used as a pinch-hitter, pinch-runner or late inning defensive replacement.
Any team that signs him will see an immediate boost in ticket sales when he is brought up, it should be worth the investment!!!
Billy Beane, please read this post....

I know Rick the Quick can still steal a few bases. I doubt he can hit over .200 in MLB but what they heck, I bet a few teams can use a designated runner and good LF on occasion.
rickey939:
Who cares if he only bats .200 at the plate...he will still walk consistently and therefore his .400+ OBP will make up for it.

Even at 10 years older, Rickey's still got to be at least at productive as a stiff like Matt Stairs of Toronto who continues to get ABs at the major league level.

I have followed Rickey career through out the years and have always admired his determination and love for the game. If he can and wants to play the game at a level which is competitive, why not let him play. Go Rickey!!!!!
